Gospel Reflection

Before Jesus left earth to be reunited with God the Father, He gave His disciples an order to continue the mission He started of sharing God’s message of love and hope with everyone in the world. And in His infinite wisdom, Jesus knew they could not do it alone. They needed to fully understand their Master’s teachings, have the wisdom to debate Jewish loyalists and convert pagans, and be courageous to endure persecution from the Romans and Pharisees. They needed His power and authority. And it came to them during the feast of Pentecost in the form of the Holy Spirit.

The Church has come a long way over the past two thousand years, and it still stands today because of the guidance and protection of the Holy Spirit. But that is only one-half of the equation. God entrusted man to be His hands and His voice. It is up to us to keep this all going, so that our sons and daughters and their sons and daughters may come to know who God is. “Spread His word!”

Gathering | Let It Be Done

When we hear the voice of God
calling out our names
Lord, we pray You give us faith
to answer You in anything
And we may not understand
the wisdom of Your plan
but we will answer
Let it be, let it be done unto me

Preparation of the Gifts | Holy Spirit, Come

Holy Spirit, come
like falling rain upon my face
Holy Spirit, come
like a dove, take me away
Into the Father’s arms and warm embrace
Holy Spirit, come
come and have Your way

Come, anoint me and fill me
and make me whole
Come and touch me
empower me
to do the Father’s will (repeat tag x2)

Communion | Ang Katawan ni Kristo

In the presence of our God
as we gather here in Christ
feel the Spirit breathe upon us
the breathe of life, graced and divine

We have come to break the bread
We have come to share our lives
Let us bring these fruits to the table
the love of God, yours and mine

Ang Katawan ni Kristo
Ang Katawan ni Kristo

Behold, the Body of Christ
Jesus, our Savior and Life
Rejoice, O People of God
We are the body of Christ

When we gather in our homes
through our prayers and our meals
we are fed and nourished together
our families, broken and blessed

In the household of our Lord
where we come to share the meal
we are fed the words of our Savior
one family, strengthened and healed

Ang Katawan ni Kristo
Ang Katawan ni Kristo

Behold, the Body of Christ
Jesus, our Savior and Life
Rejoice, O People of God
We are the body of Christ

Closing | Send Your Glory Down

O Radiant Light Divine
Shine within this heart of mine
Word of God, dispel the darkness
O Image of the Light Sublime
Our God Incarnate beyond time
That fills this place with Heaven’s glory

Send Your glory down
Send Your glory down
Send Your glory down
Send Your glory down
